Croeso i Dosbarth Oak!

Recently, Dosbarth Oak enjoyed many activities to do with our context 'Pwy Ydyn Ni?' We found out what it means to be Welsh. Our child-led learning ethos gave us opportunities to recognise different flags, comparing them to our Ddraig Coch! We took part in the Eisteddfod, singing songs while further celebrating the importance of recognising where we come from. We proudly sang 'Yma o Hyd', as a class promoting the importance of language development within the Nursery setting. In order to celebrate Welsh culture, we cooked Welsh cakes, danced to Celtic music and painted the emblem of Wales, within our outdoor learning area. By taking part in this context, we not only celebrated the significance of being Welsh, but further recognised other spoken languages in our class. We had the opportunity to recognise differences within our class, understanding we are all special and unique.

We are delighted to welcome you to our new context for learning 'Get Connected!'. Throughout this exciting summer term, we will be recognising the importance of our green spaces, looking after our environment and the animals living within it, specifically addressing farm animals and mini beasts. We will recognise the importance of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' in our everyday lives.
