The Danescourt Tree represents the school's vision and values (see attachment) and the Tree Tops system has been developed to support these values and works around three school rules:

We care for everyone and everything.

We follow instructions with thought and care.

We show respect and good manners at all times.

On moving up to the next class each year, pupils are given a magnet with an icon/image and ther name and are reminded of how Tree Tops works. They have opportunities to discuss scenarios and ask questions about the tree boundaries and what it looks like when children are showing 'moving up' behaviours and also what it looks like when 'moving down' behaviours are demonstrated. Depending on the needs of the child, we would expect that, as pupils get older, behaviours become more mature and so expectations rise to match this.
