 Pwy Ydy’n Ni?

This term our context for learning is called ‘Pwy ydy’n ni?’.
During this context we will be learning about where we live, our similarities and differences, different cultures and how fashion can help us to express ourselves.

We will be holding an ‘International Dress Day’ on Monday 29th January where learners will be invited to come to school wearing a traditional costume from their own culture/religion, an outfit to represent a country/culture they are interested in or dress in something that represents them. 

During the context, pupils will have the opportunity to:

• Learn about where they live and how families are all different.

• Talk about their own cultures and learn about different cultures and celebrations.

• Listen to and appraise music from different countries and cultures, thinking about how they make us feel. 

• Retell the story of Handa’s Surprise.

• Learn about the Welsh designer Laura Ashley and explore different fabrics and materials.

• Use pattern and shape to create their own designs.
