Welcome from the Headteacher

Mrs. K. Wathan

Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Danescourt.

We are a busy, happy and successful school. Our dedicated team of practitioners ensure that our children enjoy their time in school with high expectations and aspirations based in an inclusive learning environment. We recognise that every child has different skills and talents; we work hard to ensure that every pupil reaches their full potential and develop into excited learners ready for the next steps in their educational journey.

Our School motto is ‘Nurturing, Growing, Thriving’   'Meithrin, Tyflu, Llwyddo'

Our school ethos is one that promotes:
• the child at the core of everything

Our non-negotiable aspiration as a school is that:
• Danescourt Primary is a happy school where everyone is valued and inspired to give of their best.

Our curriculum is driven by the core purposes of Curriculum for Wales supporting children to thrive and become healthy confident individuals, ambitious capable learners, ethical, informed citizens and enterprising, creative contributors within society and the wider world. We are an accredited Thinking School with Exeter University and proudly hold the UNCRC Gold Rights Respecting Award.

As headteacher, I am fully committed to ensure that Danescourt continues to flourish and provide an aspirational curriculum which enables, enriches and inspires our children, staff and community; continuing to nurture and value all our learners building on the excellent work of the school moving forward together.

Our success starts with the children and the families we serve, extending to all adults who work for our school. Our team, work in partnership to create a climate of learning, developing supportive relationships within a stimulating learning environment.

Working in partnership with parents and carers, we aim to offer wide-ranging opportunities to further our children's academic, personal and social development through a holistic approach; celebrating individuality and diversity. We want to involve you as parents/carers in the life and work of the school and keep you well-informed about your child’s progress.

You are always welcome to discuss any concerns and problems which may arise. If you wish to see the class teacher, you may be able to do this informally at the beginning or end of the school day, otherwise I would ask you to arrange an appointment by telephoning or emailing the School office. If you wish to speak with me, you are warmly invited to school to make an appointment.

We hope that you and your children will enjoy your time as members of our school community.
